The Beautiful Bride To Be
So the night before the wedding, we went to a Callejonada. Which is a traditional celebration done here in Zac. (possibly all of Mexico, but I'm not sure....) It can be done for pretty much any special occasion, and goes as follows:
Step 1: Get Yourself A Cup
(They are little ceramic pots, worn around your neck. Ours were fittingly decorated with the wedding colors.)
Step 2: Get A Donkey
(The donkey carries Mezcal on his back, which is a type of Tequila)
Step 3: Find A Band
Step 4: Drink The Mezcal
Step 5: Follow The Band & Donkey Wherever They Go
(In this case all through downtown Zac.)
Jill & Meg
(and Gabe's cousins in the background;)
Step 6: Dance!!!
(When the band stops, which is pretty much wherever they want, you dance!)
Step 7: Take Ridiculous Photos
Gabe, Jill, Donkey
Hey look, its two........well you get the idea.
Gabe & Jill had tacos waiting for us at the end.
Finally!! Its actually time for the wedding. First a little about Gabe & Jill. When we first came to Zac they were some of the first ones to befriend us. Jill was in our congregation with her 8 year old son Beto. And Gabe was in our sister congregation in Guadalupe. (They are both now in our cong.) They are both non-native English speakers who have chosen to learn a new language and help where the need is greater in English. We appreciate there sacrifice sooo much, they add greatly to the congregation. They are some of the most kind, loving, generous people we have ever met. And we are extremely blessed to have them as friends, they help us not miss home quite so much.;)

Mr. & Mrs. Aboytes!
The wedding was held in a hotel, that used to be a Bull Fighting ring. The acrhes and old theater setting were a beautiful back drop.

Dance, Dance, Dance!
Towards the end Jill & Gabe danced to "their song".
After which sparklers went off around the dance floor.
Soo dad, I get fireworks at my wedding to right??
Last but not least we finished the evening (well by this time it was moring) with a little mariachi! And of course more food.;)
Then men of Gabe's family graced us with their singing.
So there you go. A typical Mexican wedding. Ok, so not eeevery wedding in Mexico is quite like Gabe & Jill's. You must admit theirs was pretty special. ;) We love you guys, thanks for inviting us.
And we want to give a Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Chopin and The Mills Family! Congratulations guys. We love you, and wish we could have been there. Come visit soon.:)
